Sommer Prosser
Equine Artist from Arizona
~Artist Resin Halter Judge
About her~
I began painting around 1988. After winning consistently with my own items, I
began to paint a few here or there for other people, by request. By 1995 I started
selling painted resins on consignment with DaBar, a company located in
Arizona that produced most of Kathleen Moody's resin editions plus work of
many other artists.
I've also designed paint jobs for companies such as Breyer, including the classic
scale Grulla Overo Cutting Horse and Cow, and the JCPenny Special Run series
with the "hidden pictures" of bears, wolves, and eagles, just to name a few.
When I originally submitted the sculpture that would later become "Rejoice" the
National Show Horse, I did a sample paint job on the clay piece to show how the
finished product might look. Surprisingly, they liked the paint so well they chose
this light bay tobiano color for the regular release, which makes this run of the
mold very special to me. The QVC special run "Artist's Proof" gave me another
opportunity to design a paint finish on a sculpture of mine as well.

Daphne Mazuz
Equine Artist from Massachusets
~Artist Resin Mini Workmanship Judge
About her~
A collector since 1997, I am deeply entrenched in the world of the model horse
hobby. I have been an active shower for seven years, and I have recently
begun judging in the divisions in which I love to show, custom and artist resin
halter. I am also a very chatty member of the Model Horse Blab online
community, where many of you may know me as "cranbonite." What you might
not know is that I am a longtime model horse artist, having painted my first horse
at BreyerFest 1998, and I've been hard at work experimenting and improving
ever since.

ERIN CORBETT
~OF plastic & CM Mini Halter Judge
About her~
I have been collecting model horses since I was a young girl growing up in
Seattle, where I saw the 'real thing' quite infrequently. In middle school we
moved to Oregon, and I got my first horse - firmly cementing horses as
something that would always need to be in my life in some way. Through school
and into college, I showed Appaloosas, Paints, and Arabians to the regional and
national level, mainly in the pleasure seats, trail, showmanship, and equitation.
Once college expenses started mounting, I had to let my real horses go - and
the models have been filling the void ever since.
In the model world, I have been making tack on and off for about ten years
now. My passion is Performance - it lets me set up scenes I used to act out with
my real horses. My entries and tack have shown all over the country, and have
earned top awards at NAN. After performance, I love minis - hence the focus for
this show! Minis have allowed me to move into the CM/AR arenas without
investing too heavily, and to develop some serious OF conga lines. I have also
been judging for the past several years.

KATIE YOUNGER GEHRT Equine Artist from Virginia ~Artist Resin Workmanship Judge About her~ I grew up in Richmond, Virginia, but now live in Blacksburg, Virginia, where I work for Virginia Tech as a Marketing and Communications Manager. I have been involved in the model horse community since I got my first Breyer when I was three years old, it was the Saddlebred Weanling. She probably is still my favorite even though she only has three legs and a crayon held on with electrical tape to help her stand. I started with photo shows and then became involved in live shows when I was twelve. During college, I seriously started painting models when I realized I wasn't going to be able to afford to buy all the beautiful model horses featured in magazines like The Model Horse Gazette. My fantastic Mom bought me Carol Williams' book on techniques and a whole pile of oil paints, and I was off and running. Over the years, I have added new media and techniques to my repertoire, as I love trying new things. Right now I am really into ceramics. I love casting and glazing and I have to thank Lesli Kathman for being there to support and encourage me. I just wish I had more time! Right now I divide my time between work (lots of it), my fantastic husband, grad school, and riding my Trakehner/Thoroughbred mare, Missouri. Unfortunately, this means that art work has taken a back seat. When I do have free time and I need to unwind, I go into my art room, turn on a book on tape and paint.
Katie does not have a website, but you can view her latest work - a donation of a painted Daffyd to RESS:

CHRISTINE RIEGER
~OF BREYER Halter & Collectability Judge
About her~
I grew up in Erie, PA and lived there until about 4 ½ years ago when I moved to
North Carolina. I’ve been collecting models, mostly Breyers, since the age of 11
and my collection of Breyers has grown to about 1,000. My first live show was in
1983 at the Model Horse Congress in Dayton, OH and I’ve been live showing ever
since. I like to travel to shows and have been as far away as Colorado for the
Rocky Mountain Live Show held in 1985 and hosted by Kathy Maestas. Things
were a lot different back then as there wasn’t the variety of models as there is
today. However, Breyers remain my first love, especially the Lady Phase mold,
and I have nearly all of them. I am lucky to have realized the value of the older
and rare models back then so I tried at every opportunity to acquire them when
I could. I’ve held quite a few photo shows during my high school and college
days and was fortunate to be able to judge at the Tri-State Live a few years back.
It was an awesome experience. Collecting and showing models has enabled
me to meet many wonderful people and to develop life-long friendships. I look
forward to seeing some old friends, making new ones and drooling over all the
wonderful Breyers I’ll be judging!”
Christine doesn't have a website, but I'm checking to see if her
collection is online for you to view:
